CLUB SERVICES COMMITTEE
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Committee role is to promote fellowship and friendship through club social events.
Chair is encouraged to engage committee members by ensuring they are assigned tasks. Attention should be paid to having the appropriate number of members to successfully complete tasks.
Chair shall hold monthly meeting with committee members keeping them informed and up to date on club activities.
Chair (or substitute member) shall attend monthly meeting of Board of Directors reporting on committee activities, seeking their input and advice as and if required.
Chair shall assist nomination process by identifying a candidate for succession. Hold handover meeting with successor.
Chair and Committee:
- prepare and submit annual budget
- manage friendship exchanges with other clubs upon request and approval.
- ensure coverage of weekly “host” duties (host will sit on this committee)
- provide a greeter at weekly club meetings as required
- administer club comfort fund, i.e., acknowledge illness, personal loss, etc.
- plan our three annual events, namely, Charter Night (May); Christmas Party (Nov/Dec) and Lobster Party (June)
- schedule a variety of social functions (usually one per month) to meet the needs and interests of members…options could include:
1. pool at Dooley’s
2. hike (Coxheath Hills, East Bay Hills, Baille Art Trail)
3. last Friday of the month at Boston Pizza
4. snowshoe and cross country ski day
5. bowling at Membertou
6. Highlander’s basketball game with meal following at BP
