VOCATIONAL CHAIR AND COMMITTEE

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Committee role is to encourage and foster high ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all occupations and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society as a Rotarian.

 

Chair is encouraged to engage committee members by ensuring they are assigned tasks. Attention should be paid to having the appropriate number of members to ensure the successful completion of the tasks.

 

Chair shall hold monthly meeting with committee members keeping them informed and up to date on club activities. Hold other meetings as required.

 

Chair shall attend monthly meeting of Board of Directors reporting on committee activities, seeking their input and advice as and if required.

 

Chair shall assist with nomination process by identifying a candidate for succession. Hold handover meeting with successor.

 

Chair and Committee:

 

  • Prepare, submit and monitor annual budget

 

  • Coordinate member Classification Talks throughout the year

  • Arrange for the guest speakers for assigned meetings

    • Person to introduce the speaker, person to thank the speaker

    • Ensure that “thank you” card is available and presented

  • Actively search for ways that member vocations can be used to serve our community

 

  • Assist in the coordination of the Member Satisfaction Survey as needed

    • Present the findings and recommendations of the survey

  • Have a Committee member substitute for Chair at Board of Director’s meeting if required.
